This interactive bulletin board set is a perfect way to guide your students through the Writing Process. Students will track where they are in the writing process by moving their “turtle” egg under the correct writing process title. This makes it easy for you to quickly see where your students are in their writing. It also helps students to understand the difference between the different steps in the writing process.
Directions for use:
Copy enough turtle egg pages so each student has their own egg. Use card stock and laminate for durability. Write student names on the eggs.
Arrange the process title posters on a board/wall where students can access them. Make sure they are in order as students will need to understand that there is an order to the writing process.
Start all eggs on “Prewrite.” Students should be able to move their eggs when they begin the different stages of the process.
Use the “Conference” poster as you see fit. Some teachers schedule specific days for students to conference with their teacher, while others let students move their name to the conferencing poster when they need to meet with the teacher.
Use the Writing Process description posters to help teach what they do for each step. These can be placed on or near your Writing Process board or used as anchor charts elsewhere in your classroom. Color and black & white forms are included here for you.
