The “Writing Process” charts are appropriate for writing instruction in grades 3rd-8th. (With scaffolding, the writing step strategies can be introduced in K, 1st, and 2nd during modeled and guided writing, prior to individual students writing.)
The student friendly “Prewriting, Composing, and Revising and Editing” charts with strategies can be integrated into your daily writing instruction, included in student writing practice, and used to teach Common Core English Language Arts Standards identified from the Common Core Standards’ links referenced on page 11. The “Writing is a process!” and “Use prewriting, composing, revising, and editing!” bulletin board headings are also attached, as explained on page 10.
(The “Six Plus One Writing Traits” strategies, another writing material available on Lynne's Literacy Learnings, can be integrated into the writing process and used with the “Writing Process” material strategy charts. For example, the “Presentation Trait” chart illustrates in detail publishing in the Writing Process.) With implementation of the writing process strategies, watch your students’ writing, understanding of the writing process, and their motivation to write improve!
