Description

These cards can be used by students. Students can place these cards on their desks to give you the teacher a quick and easy way of knowing where in the writing process the students are. In my class, each child has their own set of cards. I printed each sheet on a different color card stock (see below).

The cards included are:

Generating Ideas (Yellow)

Choosing and Developing a Seed Idea (Pink)

Drafting (Blue)

Revising (Purple)

Editing (Red)

Publishing (Green)

Celebrating (Orange)

Students place all task cards in a clear sandwich bag that has been stapled to the inside of the back cover of their writing notebook.

Each card includes a list of steps to be done at each stage and examples of what that might look like. These could be enlarged and placed around the classroom for students to refer to.
