Looking for a fun way to get your kids excited about writing in January? Use these daily writing prompt calendar pieces to motivate writing throughout the month!

Your students will love writing in these journals, and will look forward to each day's mystery writing prompt or activity!

*Colorful calendar pieces and January heading

*Picture word wall plus blank templates for your own words.

*36 writing prompt cards- Print 2-sided with the calendar pieces and simply turn over each day for the writing prompt! Of course, you can use separately to select the prompts you want to use, as well.

*9 fun activity/ craft cards- easy-to-do activity ideas, like make a thumbprint snowman/penguin, or draw a winter scene and decorate with glitter. You can slip the ones you want behind the card numbers on surprise days for a fun break.

*Special penguin card: Hide this behind a number card for a fun treat from you when you get to that day, or hide behind a number card and kids guess where it is- an easy number recognition game!

*Writing journal and slips- 2 style options:
***Covers- January Writing Journal
***2 lined options: dotted mid-line for younger writers, smaller-spaced for older ones.
***Pages have a space for a picture, plus there is a 2nd page with just lines, if you want to make 2-sided for extra writing room.
***Every writing prompt has a slip to go with it- simply copy the slip page you want and students glue onto journal page
***Pages also available without slip box, so you can use for other winter-themed writing activities
***Optional: Don't want to use the journal? Simply have them glue the slip onto an individual sheet or any notebook.
***Word Walls: Large picture cards for whole-class use, and individual word wall to be copied in journal.
