Product Description
You are purchasing over 70 writing prompts for the primary classroom. These are not your ordinary prompt! The students will be prompted to write using pictures that are already provided on the page.

These pictures are random so the students have fun making up a story about what they see on the page. They also add details to their pictures to match their stories. My kids love these random writings. They like to see who can come up with the most creative story!

When I introduce it, I model how to write one in front of the class. I brain storm ideas for my writing and make mine very weird and crazy! Right away the kids pick up on the idea that this writing is fun. I make sure to add lots of details around the drawings so that the kids can see how creative they can get. I collect these each week and I bind them into a book at the end of the year. The parents love these and my students are very proud of their final result that they get to take home.

I love to use these during center time. Once I introduce this activity, my students know exactly what to do and I don’t ever have to reteach it again. This means I have more time with my small group instead of having to explain how to complete this center. Just print and you’re done!

Use them with reluctant writers. These are especially good for the kids that just don’t know what to write about. It helps them when there is something already there to build an idea upon.

*Please note that these prompts are not editable and are saved as a PDF.
