Are you tired of the same ole same ole boring writing prompts for your older students? Use these picture prompts to spark your students' creativity! Start off with a whole group discussion about what is happening in the picture, why they think it's happening, what emotion the picture conveys, what might happen next, and any other reading/writing strategy that is appropriate for the particular picture. There are four pages where there is a small picture and the students are asked to draw in the rest of the scene, then write about it. Then let the students' imaginations take them away on a story writing journey. Great for writing centers, whole class/small group stories, and sub folder.
