Product Description

This unit supplements the eighteen chapters in the Modern Commercial Wiring, 5th ed., by Harvey N. Holzman, which is used in high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) Electrical Trades programs and vocational schools. The unit includes a variety of writing prompts pertaining to each chapter. An abbreviated scoring rubric is included on each chapter page; however, an extended and descriptive scoring rubric is provided at the end of the document to share with all students so they understand the expectations as well as the abbreviated scoring rubric, which is done to save paper. (Give one copy of the extended rubric to the students at the beginning of the year so they understand the expectations.) This unit is an excellent way to have students learn to communicate better and is perfect for embedding ELA curriculum into your CTE program. Even if your program does not use this text but uses a similar one, the writing prompts will probably fit your program’s textbook since they are Electrical Trades industry topics. (The preview gives the ISBN of the textbook used for this unit and also includes all the chapter titles.)
