This is a free sample of my resource that contains writing prompts for every day of the week, with enough for the entire school year! Included in this free resource is one of the two pages of the Monday alterations and topics.
Please use this link to see the full version: Daily Writing Prompts
In the full version topics are arranged under an alteration for each day of the week with more than 180 writing prompts. Add to your morning message, or use for daily writing prompt, writing center, question of the day, morning work or bell ringer. Alliterations include but are not limited to: Mindset Monday, Motivation Monday, Tell me Tuesday, Toppings Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, one Word Wednesday, Thank you Thursday, Throwback Thursday, Freaky Friday and Favorites Friday. Ideas for Mindset Monday include “Instead of saying I can’t, I can say…, For Tell Me Tuesday “tell us something we should know about you”, One Word Wednesday, “what is one word you can use to describe how you felt on the first day of school”. There is also space on each sheet for you to add your own ideas. Students can write their answers on the board, on a sticky note, on loose leaf paper or you can copy and use one of the recording sheets included. When time allows responses can be shared at morning meeting or students can read what others wrote if they are on the board. I check off the topics as I use them for small group occupational therapy sessions throughout the year. Questions can be expanded depending on the abilities or age group you work with. Ask for a couple of words, sentence or several sentences with “why” included.
