Supporting 6.RP.1 - Writing Ratios
Students roll a six-sided die in order to select one of the three questions on each card. There are 9 cards, each with three questions (totaling 27 questions). Cards can be double sided (with answers on the back) for a self-checking activity. Alternately, the task can be single-sided and used as a formative performance task or quiz. This can also make an exceptional collaborative activity or station activity. Students often "check out" this activity from my classroom library to bring home for additional practice.
Questions are leveled (progressively more challenging).
Early Finishers: challenge students to accumulate a “top score” by completing the most difficult (highest value) question on each card.
Differentiation: students needing additional support may start with the beginning questions on each card. Added clip art can aid language learners and provide literacy support.
