This writing checklist was developed to be used as a guide for the student on their self-edit, partner edit, and teacher conference while editing and revising during the writing process. It leads the student to analyze writings based on focus, content, organization, and conventions. The checklist format holds the student accountable for their revisions while reinforcing the four domains. After editing and revisions are made, a new goal is made by the student and teacher to improve writing skills. Documentation of this goal provides communication between students, teacher, and parents.
