These small writing rubrics are a great tool for all students to have when they are doing independent writing! They are designed to support students in completing a paragraph independently by providing a visual to insure they meet expectations. This tool empowers young writers to have the confidence in knowing they are producing quality work. You can use these to set writing goals with your students and isolate one of the color coded areas to focus on at a time. Requiring students to color code their paragraph drafts teaches them the importance of editing! You can even partner up peers to color code each others work!

Enjoy!
