This is a set of 8 worksheets/printables I used in my classroom to teach students how to write a better sentence (or for some, write a sentence at all!). My method was to teach students to find the subject, predicate, and verb within a sentence to first identify what a complete sentence looks like, and then to begin writing them on their own. These worksheets ask students to do the following tasks: find and label subjects/predicates, match subjects and predicates and then write the complete sentence, discern the difference between fragments and complete sentences, and write what part of a sentence is missing.
The file contains answer keys for each sheet, a teacher guide with a few different ways to use the sheets, and Common Core standards linked to the sheets.
I used these as a warm up, in a literacy center, and for pair work and they worked great!
