We complete these writing sentences quick write writing prompts for morning work each day. Perfect for Back to School. This is a year long bundle of quick write writing prompts. Each week comes with a one page set up or the choice of using with an interactive writing notebook setup. When I implemented these Quick Writes in my first grade classroom years ago, I could see results almost immediately. This is the most commented on and complimented activity my students do every day. Parents love reading the responses and administrators love seeing the students so engaged with their writing. Having one foldable that lasts for the entire week saves paper and makes it easy to prepare.

Please read through some of the very kind feedback comments below - you'll be very pleased with your students reaction to these.

All months have had interactive notebook templates added. ALSO, crowns have been added to the Mother's Day set.

I've included a preview of April, to show you how these are set up.

This is a BUNDLE for 11 months of Quick Writes, the Mother's Day Quick Writes and a rubric for the year. Rubric is ONLY available with the bundle.

We use these as weekly quick writes for morning work. After we spend some time working on answering in complete sentences, students are able to write one or two sentences to quickly respond to the prompts. Students get these on Monday and keep them in their writing folders. I collect them on Friday. They keep a writing rubric in their writing folders so they know what I am looking for and what will be graded each month.

There’s also a blank form to use in case you want to create your own prompts instead of using the given prompts.

"Amazing!! I can't tell you how much this saves me grief. I always run out of ideas. And in California we do use common core (grrrr!) and those rubrics are priceless. I teach second but in a poverty area and most students are well below grade level in writing due to their second language. Thank you!" Cheri C.
