Often times, when students who have difficulty with written expression, they struggle to write sentences. Children don’t know what to start writing about, they may have a hard time finishing the sentences they started, or the sentences they write do not include enough information. My solution is to ask questions to generate ideas and to guide their writing.
To complete the sentence exercise, students will look at the pictures and answer the questions on scratch paper or in their minds. The answers they generated will be used to write sentences.
