Get your students writing sentences in a fun, engaging way!
Students roll 2 dice (or one two times) and use the numbers to determine what they must include in their sentences. This includes 2 sets. In each set, the first roll determines the subject. For the second roll, in the first set students are given the type of information (origin, location, emotion, occupation, etc.) and they have to come up with it while the second set provides them with specific information (at the store, tired, etc.). In both cases, they need to determine if they should use ser or estar and put it all together in a creative way.
There are 8 different versions! For each set:
Pages 1 and 2: have different sets of people to talk about / type of information
Page 3: Teacher, Class, or Pairs (you decide) choose the people to write/talk about
Page 4: Spaces for people are blank again for you to decide who chooses them, but the difference is that there are already numbers given with which to create sentences (so there is no need for dice).
*I like to give them a minimum number of words they must have (will differ depending on level) or tell them what pieces of information they must have (w/whom, where, when, why, etc.) If I want to make it last longer, I will gradually add more. For example, first they just need to include where. After a bit, they must include where and when. Then, I'll say they have to include where, when, and why, etc.
