Introduces students to the concept of “show, don’t tell.” The concept of “show, don’t tell” will help students in all areas of their writing to make it more interesting. While there are many ways to “show, not tell,” the lessons in this mini unit are focused on introducing students to “showing” emotions rather than just stating them.
These lessons do not have to be restricted to one per day. They can flow through with each other and be combined onto the same day. This is just a way to group and think about the different stages that the students go through in their practice.
