This power point it designed to help students understand the difference between writing sentences that tell what is happening in a story and sentences that show what is happening in a story.
Telling - Jerry felt scared waiting in line to go on the roller coaster.
Showing - Jerry was trembling and biting his nails as he waited in line to go on the roller coaster.
This presentation gives examples of showing sentences, partner talk time for discussing how to change a telling sentence into a showing sentence, as well as some independent practice.
