The Sentence Creator worksheets are perfect for getting your students excited about writing. This activity helps students generate sentences around a particular theme. They can be used on their own or to jump start your students' writing.
What do the students do with these worksheets?
On each worksheet, students will use the table at the top of the page and crayons (colored pencils, markers, or highlighters) to choose words for their sentences. The table has five columns. Every sentence will include an article/pronoun, adjective, noun (person, animal, or thing), verb, and noun (place).
After students have colored the table with the designated colors, they will put the words in order to write their complete sentences.
Is this an activity my students can do independently?
Definitely! You may want to complete one page together as a class so students can see how to complete the activity from start to finish.
What grade levels are these worksheets appropriate for?
This activity is best suited for first grade and second grade students to work on independently or in small groups. You could also use these as a whole group activity for kindergarten students. Many of the words will be too difficult for kindergartners to read on their own.
When can I use these worksheets?
The worksheets are based on themes, so they can be used throughout the year. Some may be better suited for a particular time of year or go along with what you are learning. Use the clickable table of contents to choose the worksheets you want to work on.
