Have your students create a suitcase and fill it with writing strategies for students to use as a reminder of all the strategies a good writer uses!
The strategies are matched with a picture to help the students remember the strategies when their suitcase isn't available. (Student remembers picture of filmstrip and remembers to "Show not tell".)
The suitcase and tools are small enough that they will fit in a pocket students make in their writing notebooks!
Students may put all of the tools in their suitcase they assemble at one time, or have them place a tool in their suitcase each time one is introduced.
