PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I created this Power Point to help students understand how to use direct quotes in their papers, especially in their research reports. This presentation reviews the basic guidelines for formatting quotes and how to cite a source on the Works Cited page. There is one slide that briefly explains MLA format for a paper.

This presentation includes I Can Statements and an Exit Ticket where students answer 4 questions based on the content of the presentation. I find this to be a great review and quick formative assessment of what students know and can do. This resource is best suited for middle school, general education and inclusion classes, and special education and ESL learners.

I find that students struggle with documenting their quotes/sources correctly, so we do additional practice after reviewing the basics in class. Look for my MLA practice task cards coming soon!
