Product Description
This is a culminating project for an 8th grade unit on American government. It is easily adapted for use in a 12th grade Civics class. Students work in small groups to write and present a plausible constitution based on the one written in the late 18th century in America.

Each group is provided one of three specific scenarios to be addressed.

Scenario 1: rebuilding after a civil war in the Caribbean

Scenario 2: a coup d'état in Europe

Scenario 3: a colony turned country on the North American frontier

Students will also practice expository and reflective writing as they look back at their effort on this project.
