In this 5-part lesson plan, your students will work together and learn how to write formal paragraphs which include a topic sentence, supporting sentences, a concluding sentence and details.
Everything is laid out in order in this lesson plan outline, starting with the Learning Objectives for your students. There are effective and ineffective examples for all 5 parts of the lesson, as well as class notes.
There are no printables for the students, this is strictly the lesson plan outline for the teacher. Although, I did give an example of how I use the effective and ineffective sentences to provide hands-on work for the students that turn into a referential display for them when they are writing their own formal paragraph.
There is no task rubric with this outline, since this varies from country and state. I am Canadian, so some of my paragraphs will deal with Canada. This is easily transformed to United States if you so wish to do so.
