Product Description

Let your students enjoy writing a beautiful apostrophe poem while reviewing several parts of speech and other figurative languages. I first explain apostrophe to them, then show them Robert Frost's poems "October" and " To the Thawing Wind" and Langston Hughes's poems "Mother to Son" and "The Dream Keeper" that include apostrophe. Then I model writing the sun poem with them using this worksheet. Next, I let them work independently or with a partner to do the back (there are a few topic choices for them). By the end, they'll have two beautiful poems. Plus, you'll have this template for them to use on any topic they choose!
