Multiply within 100. Twenty-one pages of multiplication practice and another twenty-one pages for students to demonstrate that they understand what multiplication is. Students solve 63 multiplication problems, draw a picture to illustrate a multiplication fact, and then write a story about that fact. This activity combines convergent thinking (one expected numerical answer) and divergent thinking (multiple answers in creative writing).
