This practice opportunity offers students a chance to solve systems of equations with graphing, elimination or substitution methods (students' choice). In addition students will practice solving for y i.e. slope-intercept form and writing systems of equations from real-world, word problems.
The practice sheet includes 5 systems to solve using various form including slope-intercept and standard form. There are 3 equations to convert to slope-intercept form. The activity ends with 3 word problems that require students to write systems of equations and solve them.
I use this with my 8th grade Pre-Algebra students and it is challenging for them. It is a good review for my Algebra I students. It would also make a good assessment tool.
