This is a short writing piece to be used on October 16th. It can also be used on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and any day you need a quick writing piece!
On October 16th, 2011, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial was dedicated in Washington D.C. This worksheet contains a paragraph about the memorial, and it describes three parts of the memorial: a statue of Dr. King, the Inscription Wall, and the memorial's physical address. Students are invited to reflect upon the memorial's three parts and write a paragraph describing the part of the memorial they find the most powerful.
Great for a bell-ringer or daily writing assignment!
