Product Description
The first worksheet is called “Objects as Characters: What would they say?” The second worksheet is called "Writing from Different Points-of-View. Both pages are designed to have students write from the perspective or point-of-view of inanimate objects. Once students decide what each object is saying, they write its words in an adjoining talking bubble. Two examples are provided at the top of the page: one is a talking doorknob and the other is a talking welcome mat. Next there are directions followed by six pictures of objects Students imagine what each objects might say, and then write a sentence or two in each empty talk bubble. On the second worksheet there are 4 sentences having students pretend they are 4 different objects. The sentences tell students what the objects like or dislike. Underneath each prompt sentence there are 3 blank lines for the children to write their answers. Cute cartoon pictures are given on the side.
The objective is to have students write from the perspective of each object. To do it well, students need to characterize how the object would be feeling. This product is actually 2 worksheets in one, a good deal for $1. The worksheets will get your students’ creative ideas flowing. You could even have them think up other objects and write sentences and do drawings for each. Additionally, that would lend itself very well to cooperative learning groups.
