"Isn't journaling for English class?"
Who would have thought that you can journal in math class too!!
A math journal can be used as a strategy to provide students with an opportunity to:
-reflect on their math understanding and learning
-search for real life connections
-openly write about ideas, thoughts, and feelings about math
-become more actively involved in their learning
Writing in Math Class?
is my top seller, and after a few requests, I decided to create even more journal starters to get your students thinking beyond the numbers.
In the following resource I have provided you with 15 journal starters in poster form. These posters can be placed around your room year long as a bulletin board, placed in a bin for students to select, or you can put one up at a time.
To encourage communication in the math classroom, some of these starters can be used in a group setting or as an individual reflection.
