A unique way to get students writing in math. There are 28 pages of graphics--box plots, histograms, dot plots, stem and leaf plots, and percents bar graphs, and data sets.
An EDITABLE VERSION is included. You will need to have Microsoft Powerpoint in order to edit it.
Having students write in mathematics can be difficult. Get students up and moving around the room while they are engaged in writing in math with this activity.
Students will write two truths and one lie (adapted from the get to know you game) about the graphics. Teacher Instructions included. There are two versions.
In the first versions, each group of students will get a graphic or word problems and write two truths and one lie about it. Afterwards, students will get sticky notes to identify the lies on other groups papers.
In a second version of this, the truths and the lies are already written and students need to identify which of the three statements is the lie.
This can be used as a review at the end of the lesson.
