Now includes 21 Would You Rather...? Prompts
Have your students outgrown the Paragraph of the Week? Some of my students did. They were ready for the next step. This is why I created Writing of the Week!
The Bundle! This bundle includes...
Writing of the Week - Descriptive
Writing of the Week - Opinion
Writing of the Week - Persuasion
This resource uses a similar format from my Paragraph of the Week products. However, the difference is that the students are now expected to write 3 paragraphs with an introduction and conclusion section.
I call this an extension product because it uses the same prompts that are in my Paragraph of the Week product. This product can be given to your high flying writers, while the Paragraph of the Week can be used by writers still developing mastery of paragraphs. It is fabulous that the whole class is writing about the same topic. Your admin will love the differentiation you are providing.
This structured, consistent approach allows students to focus on there writing skills and not the directions. Each week has the same format with a new topic. It is a 4-day format so you can send it as weekly homework or keep it in the classroom. It is successfully used both ways at our school.
Day 1 is gathering there thoughts and ideas, then writing the introduction and first paragraph.
Day 2 has the students writing the second and third paragraphs.
Day 3 includes writing the conclusion. Students also reread the paragraphs to revise for organization and word choice.
Day 4 allows the student to write/type the final draft and check for convention errors.
All topics are personal so you're students are automatic experts on the content. There is no research to be done to complete these paragraphs. All the content comes from they're personal experiences and thoughts.
Each package also includes a blank editable set of pages for you to personalize your own topics, rubrics, a parent letter for homework, completed samples for the parents, and completed samples for you.
Not convinced yet? Try it before you buy it!!! Enjoy a 3-week sample for you to review and use in your classroom. Check it out by clicking the link below.
