A short practice on reading the date in day/month format and writing it out in Spanish with a focus on Mexican holidays.
Students are given the name of the holiday and the date in numerical format (ex: Mexican Independence Day: 16/9). They are then to complete the date following the formula of "La fecha es el ____ de _____.) The items are varied in that the first one has a great deal of support (separated lines to remind of parts). By the end, students are supplying more and more words themselves.
Short activity of only 7 items. A nice add-on to the end of a discussion on the Day of the Dead, as part of a cultural unit on Mexico, or just as a supplement to learning how to express the date. Document is the same practice twice so as to be printed as half sheets.
