This is a great activity for an intro Anatomy and Physiology class. Students become totally immersed in their role as a forensic anthropologist. They will apply their knowledge of sexual dimorphism as it relates to the human body as they analyze unknown human remains. They must then prepare testimony for the trial of a known serial killer and provide justification based on their research and analysis. This activity comes ready to go; fully developed writing prompt with rubric, stimuli for the writing prompt (youtube video links, online PowerPoint links, and sexual dimorphism chart), a detailed task outline, evidence worksheets, as well as multiple snip-its of actual news footage, put together to create a faux crime story. Students will love taking on this role and working at their own pace as they determine who-done-it.
