Description

Wu Zetian (Empress Wu) was the only woman to rule China in her own right but she is often ignored in history class. She deserves some attention and to be taught in schools.

Wu Zetian is included in most world history curriculums now making this resource an easy inclusion. The short read is 720 words long and includes a several page summary that gets students working on various history skills such as:

  • Citing the text
  • Identifying bias
  • Identifying additional resources
  • Forming an opinion

There are plenty of opportunities to discuss the reading and summary questions. There is also a short vocabulary list.

This resource was updated to work as an interactive resource for Google Classroom™ making it a great distance learning resource. If you are looking for the print-only version please click here.
