(X) “X”- TRA SPECIAL BIRDS
A bird theme is very versatile unit. Winter birds, penguins, spring birds, and owls are engaging units to do with students. To complete this bird glyph with success, prior knowledge is necessary. The studying of birds as animal group is essential. Before beginning the students should be pulled aside to identify six birds by sight (pictures included). If there are older students (gr. 4, 5, 6) could identify the birds by sound only. Birds are unique and there characteristics shows this. Discussions on male vs Female birds, Canadian vs. America birds, kind of birds, kinds of feet, special beaks, birds with crowns, wings, homes, bones, and molting.
