This game bundle includes 22 different Yahtzee like articulation games for early elementary sounds! It includes:3 games (initial, medial, final) of the following sounds:K, G, F, TH, and L; 1 game of the following consonant clusters (S Blends)SK, SP, ST, SL, SN, SM; and 1 game of mixed S Blends in the word medial/final positions. The goal is to get as close to 5 of each picture as possible. Have students roll all 5 dice at one time (I suggest using a brown paper lunch bag or a big cup/pitcher as a “shaker”). Students get three “shakes”, they can keep whatever dice they want each time or re-roll all the dice. On the third roll, students choose what row they want to cover (have students use dry erase markers to cross out the pictures, or use any token-like item to cover the pictures). Each student takes 5 turns, at the end of the 5th turn, whoever has the most Xs or tokens is the winner.
Ideas for sound practice:
Before playing have students point to and practice each word on their card
Have students say each word they roll each time they roll the dice
Have students say their words as they cover them/cross them out on their score card
Have students say their words at the end when they are counting their Xs/tokens
Sounds can be practiced at the word or sentence level
This game can also be used to target grammar (plurals), verb tense (rolled, covered, etc.), phonemic awareness (find the letters/say the sounds), and as a reinforcer along with any other target stimuli cards which makes it GREAT for those mixed speech AND language groups!
