Includes a KWL Chart - As a group discuss what the students already know about where animals live, and what they would like to know. Provide pictures of different animals found in local areas as a stimulus, e.g. turtles, flying foxes, koalas and snakes. Have the students copy the KWL chart into their workbooks.
Table - Laminate and A3 table and choose students to come up and arrange images and words into the table differentiating between four local habitats; ocean, mangroves, eucalyptus forests and bushland.

Information cards on all eight local animals are provided.
