Australian Curriculum – Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Volcanoes – Project planner – Assessment Rubric included.
This Year 6 Earth Sciences assessment task
is the perfect conclusion to your Earth Science’s unit.
Planning and marking projects can be time-consuming but you don’t need to worry because everything you need is right here!
This project planner provides for differentiation in your assessment task by allowing students to create a project and presentation for the class Earthquake Expo
using their individual strengths and talents. While students are able to create individual presentations they all have the same objective – to demonstrate how major geological events can cause rapid changes to the earth’s surface. (ACSSU096
I know from experience that the students will develop clever and creative displays including a tsunami demonstration using a sandy beach made of cake and blue jelly for the ocean, Volcanoes build on wooden “tectonic plates” that when shaken cause an eruption of vinegar and bicarb, wooden puzzles showing the layers of the earth and the tectonic plates, stop motion documentaries showing the three types of movement and many more clever presentations all created using the student’s individual strengths.
