Spelling lessons made simple! Here's your year-long spelling lesson plans in one package.
I struggled with spelling for several years, trying many different approaches to help my students, before developing this comprehensive (yet simple) program. The secret to spelling mastery is multi-sensory practice, and this program provides that in an organized, effective fashion.

The concept is simple. On Monday, your students are introduced to the rule of the week and cut our their cards (20 minutes). On Tuesday through Thursday, they begin practicing spelling words while manipulating them in different ways to make them "stick" in their brains (15 minutes each day). On Friday, you administer the spelling test.
Easy! But effective...and everything you need is right here! This 15 minute activity is a great "after lunch recess" lesson, since it moves the kids gradually back to focusing on curriculum as they collaborate with a partner to study their words.
For five weeks, new rules are introduced. During week six, the words are a review of the rules from the prior five weeks. There are a total of 30 weeks included. See the sample download for a list of rules covered, as well as the instructions for how to implement the program.
