Do you and your students need to escape from the classroom for a period, go outside or walk the halls of the school to capture, appreciate and observe your surroundings? This scavenger hunt is the perfect break and practice for the novice or the pro! Photos can be taken on cell phones if enough cameras are not available. Students love to review one another's interpretations of the themes the next day, and we vote on a winner, who gets a candy bar. We constructively critique the projects and discuss how we can incorporate what we've learned and experienced into our yearbook photography. My students love these scavenger hunts and actually cheer when I surprise them with a "challenge day." Watch for more postings on photo challenges that have worked wonders with my yearbook kids!
