As a yearbook adviser, I am often tasked with trying to edit pages, supervise a staff, encourage leadership in my editors, and to oversee the publication of a 400-page chronological yearbook. It can get overwhelming keeping all of the staff on task.
I created this rubric to keep tabs on each staff member and to encourage them to develop the skills they need to succeed in class and in their lives:
*Use of time
*Work area upkeep
*Equipment and press pass usage
In this way, I can grade my staff on the intangibles that are difficult to assess on a typical assignment. I have eight mini-deadlines through the year -- four in the first semester and four in the third quarter -- to ensure that our book is complete and submitted to the publisher on time. This rubric allows me to provide individual feedback to each staff member and to highlight areas of improvement.
This ZIP files contains three versions of the rubric:
1. A PDF version that is ready for use
2. A Microsoft Works version (.docx) that is 100% editable for your needs
3. An Open Office version (.odt) that is 100% editable for your needs
