Most days, during calendar time, I ask my first graders a variety of questions. Some of these questions are: “How many seconds equal one minute? How many minutes equal one hour? How many hours equal one day... How many months equal one year?”
From experience, I know that students learn best when they are having fun, so that’s what led me to write this poem. I also know that when the students have interacting, hands-on activities, their learning is enhanced. This nesting clock booklet, seems like just the ticket! The pages of the book are the 5 stanzas of the poem, and I have also included a little chant for extra fun! Great for reading, and can make during math centers, and ELD activity. So, without ado, here is my “Years Come, and Years Go!” unit!
