Yes/No Task Cards
Life Skills: Safety Signs
This is an excellent product to help students recognize safety signs. Safety signs/symbols is one aspect of teaching safety both in the home, school, and community. This product contains 40 safety signs that students will have to determine whether or not the safety sign is correct or not by answering yes or no. Teaching students to answer yes or no to questions requires the student to have some understanding of the question. These yes/no task cards are a simple, yet effective way in teaching students safety signs and also to distinguish between the meaning of yes and no.
The first section contains yes/no questions based on “is” questions to determine if the students recognize the signs of safety.
The next set of task cards are more application (“If you see this sign should you cross the street?”) based task cards to determine if the students have grasped the concept.
Safety is a very important concept to teach students early. Students who are able to recognize the meanings of these signs are less likely to get hurt and to remain safe. In addition, they are also more likely to be independent. The yes/no answers are perfect size for a dauber. Students can also place a coin on them, color them in, or mark them with an X. In addition, I have included yes/no cards that students can hold up or Velcro onto the yes/no symbol. Students will love answering yes and no to safety signs in a variety of ways. Using Yes/No task cards is an excellent way to teach students safety signs. The students will have to be able to distinguish between safety signs and then decide if the sign is is the right one by answering yes or no.
