I made this activity as a way for students to think about (or realize) things they are thankful for. It's a nice activity to do in those days right before the Thanksgiving break when both teachers and students are beginning to focus on the holiday. The activity requires students to think about things that annoy them and then turn those annoyances into something they are actually thankful for. For example, vegetables annoy me, yet I am thankful for them because they are healthy for my body. In the process, you will have your students continue to practice their writing.
Upon completion of the activity, students could type up their list and mount it on construction paper. They could even share it at Thanksgiving with their families.
The file is a slideshow that is designed to walk students through the lesson, including pauses for classroom discussion, teaching, and interaction. It contains 6 slides in all, including the title slide.
