Yoga Cards for Kids | mindfulness and brain breaks activities


Included in this pack are 27 yoga poses for children which are great for developing mindfulness and practicing growth mindset.

All yoga cards have been designed to fit a full page to enable all children to see the visual images when using the cards in the classroom.

The yoga cards can be printed smaller by simply adjusting your printer's settings.

The cards included have minimal text to allow children to focus on the visual representation of the yoga pose.

The Yoga Poses Included in this pack include:

• Bird yoga pose

• Cat yoga pose

• Cobra yoga pose

• Fish yoga pose

• Warrior yoga pose

• Pretzel yoga pose

• Table yoga pose

• Tree yoga pose

• Turtle yoga pose

• Butterfly yoga pose

• Snail yoga pose

• Firefly yoga pose (also known as the dragon)

• Rabbit yoga pose

• Moon yoga pose

• Mountain yoga pose

• Seahorse yoga pose

• Flower yoga pose

• Bridge yoga pose

• Candle yoga pose

• Downward Dog yoga pose

• Lion yoga pose

• Mouse yoga pose

• Shark yoga pose

• Waterfall yoga pose

• Windmill yoga pose

You will notice that some of the yoga poses are not the conventional yoga pose name as this pack is designed with children in mind and some poses have been renamed to make them more child friendly.

When completing each yoga pose, I would recommend holding each pose for at least 10 seconds, encouraging children to take deep ‘balloon’ breaths throughout the pose.

By encouraging children to take ten slow ‘balloon’ breaths, mindfulness can be heightened as children learn how to fully engage in the present moment and simply slow down their bodies and minds, something so very important to learn in this fast paced life we all now seem to live.

These yoga cards can be used to support classroom mindfulness activities or for a quick brain break. Not all yoga poses to be done, simply choose a few to focus on at a time.

This is the first set in a series of mindfulness cards aimed to foster growth mindset in children. This set is currently only in standard US size, an Australian A4 size will be complete and added to this file soon.
