Ayurveda and Yoga bring a wealth of knowledge about diet and digestion. In fact, ayurveda says diet is one of the three pillars of good health: "If diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. If diet is correct, medicine is of no need" - Ayurvedic proverb. This powerpoint presentation explains agni, or the digestive fires of the body and mind, and how to calm or strengthen one's agni, revealing simple causes of dietary problems and easy ways to make changes to begin to either calm down or enliven that digestive fire. The power point ends with five yoga poses to stimulate, regulate, calm and strengthen the digestion. Many schools are now adding yoga to their after-school or physical eduction curriculums.
