Yoga……aaaaah……relaxation. School assignments……uuuummmm……a little stressful? Could one possibly help with success in the other? I think so!
Here’s my idea: use these posters at stations around your room. Place a math problem, a reading passage, or a challenge in any subject that you choose at each station with the yoga posters. Students travel from station to station, alone or in small groups, and practice the pose and/or the breathing technique before attempting the problem or challenge assignment.
After a little yoga practice, the assignments should be done with much more ease and confidence.
This resource contains 4 sets of posters:
16 pose description posters with a clip art kid modeling each of sixteen poses.
8 breath description posters with colorful illustrations.
8 Motivational posters connecting yoga to life skills, such as being calm, staying alert, and sharing a smile.
Blank poster set for you to write on or attach your own challenge activities.
I recommend printing on cardstock and laminating.
If ink is an issue, they also print well in grayscale as a printer option.
