ABC Order Spelling: Students put the spelling words in alphabetical order. When they are done the pick 7 of the words, and put it in sentences on the back
Vocab Flip-Flap: Print these pages back to back. Students fold these pages “hot dog” ways. They fill out the flip flap accordingly. If they are struggling with the definition portion, they can look it up in the glossary at the back of their book.
Comprehension Interactive Journal Page: Students write down what each character did in the legend. This makes it easier for them to do the compare and contrast activity.
Subject-Verb Agreement Interactive Journal Page: Students write fill the flaps out about “Subject-Verb Agreement”.
What’s The Message Interactive Journal Page: Students write down the message of the story then insert it in their “What’s The Message?” envelope.
Compare & Contrast The Candidates: Students compare and contrast the characters of the story.
Mountains of Homophones & Homographs: Students write down examples of Homophones or Homographs depending on what mountain it is. They then glue it down on a 11X20 piece of construction paper.
Spelling Practice: You will need a dice for this activity. Students will roll to find out what spelling word to write. They keep going until all squares are filled. They also pick some of the words, and put them into sentences.
Comprehension Tri-fold: Print back to back and fold like a brochure. Students fill this out about the story.
