This worksheet contains grammatically correct lyrics to "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon Jovi on the front, along with three quick written response questions, and 4 Column Notes on the back. The front also has the learning targets and common core standards listed. The literary techniques covered are: rhyme scheme, alliteration, metaphor, parallelism, and repetition. The grammar rules covered are commas with nouns of direct address, commas after introductory adverb clauses, and commas before coordinating conjunctions when joining two independent clauses. I use these worksheets as bellringers most days and my high school students love them. Sometimes I show the music video and sometimes I just pull up an audio version of the song for students to listen to. You can have the students complete the work individually or in cooperative learning pods.
