Topics Covered and Mastery Goals
Teachers of differentiated classes -- whether those that are mainstream or SPED, ESL, ELL -- often find that there are learners who are capable of mastering the material, once the language is simplified, the lessons "chunked" into manageable units, and practice is offered in areas that the student is newly navigating. As an example, a Math teacher may find that simplifying fractions can be within reach of some struggling students, once those students gain mastery of division fact; this slideshow series offers a strategy for getting some of the basic concepts to your learners.
This material is a very straightforward explanation and practice for some of the basic concepts. Whether you're teaching a class in which everyone is learning the material for the first time, or you're reviewing some of the background lessons for students who somehow missed it but need it now so that they can access more complex processes -- we can help.
Recommended strategies for use:
1) Whole class activity
2) Partial class activity
3) If the student is literate, this can also be used on an individual computer or ipad.
4) Homework review activity (if the student has a flashdrive to copy)
Please note: In the future, I'm hoping to put some of this material on youtube with audio. If you're interested in being notified about this, please send me an email or mention in comments.
