Looking for a way to get your kids instantly engaged in your study of the American Revolution? Why not let them discuss/debate one of the great questions of our age; who would win in a battle between George Washington and Napoleon Bonaparte?
This lesson utilizes a great YouTube episode of Spike TV's Deadliest Warrior to get kids interested in the military aspects of the American Revolution while they develop their critical thinking skills. As they watch the action-packed show, they are asked to evaluate, compare, and contrast the skills of the two generals and eventually form a conclusion based on their options and evidence.
This is a great introductory activity, extra credit assignment, or one-day lesson. Recommended for secondary grade levels due to violence in YouTube movie.
